Somehow Shinpachi and Hijikata feel to have been “left behind” because everybody but themselves changed in those 2 years that they didn`t realize had been passed… or did they?
Note: Clarified by the man Gintoki himself at the beginning of episode 5, the title`s pronounciation is neither Gintama Dash or Gintama Dot, it`s simply Gintama. The little dot is just there for grown up reasons, because they grow hair down there and so on…

Must see, warning you could die of laughing.
Only downside to this anime is that they decided to end it. Dont try to make sense of it on a whole just watch and enjoy the ride.
This show will change how you view shounen series. The humor is usually hilarious (sometimes it falls flat, but it never fails to amuse), when there is action, it`s badass, and when it gets serious, not shit, but buckets of blood hit the fan. If you haven`t seen the first season, you totally should, if only so you have a gist of what`s been going on, but even if you haven`t seen the first season, the show is designed so you can appreciate what`s going on with a bare minimum understanding of the cast. Somehow, it manages to do this without even being close to shallow. My only warning would be not to come into this expecting it to be serious or expecting it to happen often. The only time that happens is just when you start to get a little bored of all the nonsense going on, but even then, it`s really hard to get bored of all the nonsense.
It continues in the same spirit and beats the original!!

Still has funny scenes but after 232 episodes its repeating itself and not funny as first season and
it`s drama scenes became really boring for me.
As cliche as it sounds, “You have missed half of your life if you haven`t seen this anime”.
this is the one show that i can say i have way every single episode since season one, and also when i want to watch something to crack me up.
Never laughed as hard in my entire life, the humor ranges all from dirty slapstick jokes into progressively built up intelligent references that tingles you in all the right ways just aslong as you have a broad perspective and experience.
The closest an anime show will ever get to being perfect.

If you have seen the first series – it`s more of the same, wicked fun, maybe even better. If you haven`t – go watch the first series and come back for more.
For me, every season of Gintama is a must see.
This is just the greatest thing i watch and trust me when you get the hang of this there is no such word as “Time to drop this Anime”, “Filler” or “Boring” this is a whole different thing then the others out there
Balance – this is what Gintama excels at, and what makes it stand out from other comedies.

This is the anime equivalent of The Monty Python`s Flying Circus. Or as close as any anime is gonna get anyway. Way ahead of the herd. Simply brilliant.
