The second-year high school student [Kanda Sorata] lives in Sakurasou, the dormitory for problem children at Sorata`s school. One day, [Shiina Mashiro] — a cute girl who happens to be also a cosmopolitan, brilliant artist — moves into Sakurasou.
Sorata knowing the weirdos at the dormitory feels he should protect Mashiro. Surprisingly she seems to need more help than expected: she has no idea how to take care of herself, often gets lost, and her room is a complete mess. Sorata`s dorm mates designate him as the master of Mashiro, and thus, an ordinary boy and a brilliant girl live like a master and his pet.

Mildly interesting slice of life romance/drama that gets tiring from constant overdramatization. Still somewhat enjoyable.

At first glance, ecchi, cute heroines, a catchy OP, and a story about making it in the Video Game, Anime and Manga world seemed like the perfect recipe for success, but when concerned with love the show never quite goes anywhere. The show is like a loop every few episodes, the way they get close to something happening, but then everything just returning back to the way it was afterwards. The Drama + J.C. Staff combo rears it`s ugly head a lot in the second half too. If you don`t mind being teased that way, it`s a decent show to watch for the laughs and maybe some of the dialogue. At it`s best Sakurasou is funny and gives some food for thought about success and failure, and how much talent factors into the equation.

This one is my biggest disapointment in season. 1st half was “generic” and nice. 2nd one is big drama without any imo good reasoning. I would like to have more Mashiro x Sorata relationship instead of problems of everyone else. I dont like to say this, but I feel like I`ve wasted my time on the 2nd half of this show. Recommended only for fans of “drama” in some abstract meaning.

I am usually a person that do not show much emotion, but this series really made tears fall down my cheeks. Yes, this series really moved me.

The characters are all very memorable (Mashiro-chan, go for it! You can win over Sorata!), the OP`s an ED`s and in-series music are all very good, but most of all, it have a moving story.

I sincerely hope this series will get a second season.

This series would`ve been perfect if it was 12 or 13 episodes as the beginning and middle of this series was funny with just a touch of drama; however, the latter part of this series had over the top drama that made watching the last few episodes difficult to watch. Overall, factoring everything in, I`d recommend watching this series as it`ll have you laughing for sure.

I was expecting something entirely different from this series when I started watching it. And by that, I mean I was expecting it to be more of the same. It wasn`t.

The series is illustrated beautifully, the characters are unique and have depth, the story moves forward at a good pace, and there`s less of the fanservice aspect than I was expecting.

All in all, it was an enjoyable watch. Very funny at times, heartwarming, heartbreaking – all around, worth the time to watch.

For a coming-of-age anime, Pet Girl fits the bill quite nicely. Although I wont go as far as to call it contrived in its drama, it is indeed exaggarated. Yet, thats just how a seishun needs to be – tears, laughter, shouting, running and emotions spilling, like certain fluids, left and right. If youthful drama is your thing, look no further. If, however, you`ve started to outgrow that nagging, embarrassing obsession, take this nice little anime with a grain of salt.

I started the serie without expectations and it fulfilled them. It`s heart warming, comic, and enjoy to watch. No sulking or driving crazy pratogonist and all the characters are easy to handle. May be a final in love triangle should be nicer in ending but not necessary. Watch it omae!

I liked the characters, liked the plot, liked the ending. There were lukewarm moments but that just happens. I wasn`t swept off my feet, but I think this is a heart warming series and it was well paced. Nothing was too slow or too fast. It made me laugh and it made me smile 🙂

didnt think much about it, but after watching i must say i wasnt disappointed. if you are looking for an anime that will inspire you to never give up or a bit of a good laugh, i honestly believe this anime will do it 🙂

crazy comedy! fully enjoyable, fully recommended!

The situations that the characters are in thrown in may be cliche, but the portrayal of the characters is so compelling that they seem real. This is more than a simple ecchi comedy.

In my opinion: one of the best animes of 2012. It has a great sense of humor and loads of creativity, which led me to viewing all episodes twice. Nearly every time I found little details that I missed at first glance. A superb mix of comedy and drama with a hint of ecchi.

It has been awhile since i laughed and smiled this much watching an anime :X I can`t even put into words how much i love it!! You`ll be hooked after the 1st episode, so if u want an original plot, characters and jokes don`t hesitate, u won`t wasting your time!!!

Yet again another “Don`t judge by the front cover” Anime. A perfect balance of almost everything needed for an Awesome anime. Great characters, relate-able main character, romance, suspense, great plot, drama, realism, all under 24 episodes! IGNORE the ratings!!

Completely underrated, from what seams to be a simple situation comedy, turns into a well constructed drama about deep issues that torment us not only as teenagers but adults as well.
A good laugh is guaranteed with the bonus of being something more then that, smart, intelligent and well delivered.

This is the best anime I`ve ever seen and I`ve seen some really good ones. I laughed in every single episode! Even when I was crying a damn river out of heart-warmingness, they still made me laugh my butt off! The characters were all very unique in their own way, they all had their specific problems and characteristics, they were all funny! I enjoyed it so very much! I had been looking for an anime this good for a long time! A huge thanks to the creators, this was one of the best experiences I have ever had! 😀

The moment when i stumbled upon this anime. Is the moment i fell in love .

The story , the cast , the emotions , the voice acting . Everything about it is memorable. I will curse myself if i ever forget about this anime. The joy i had watching it is beyond words . A truly heartwarming story . DON`T MISS IT ! .

It is not a generic harem or love triangle.
It is not a generic romance story.
It is not entirely cliche, done-to-death, or pandering fan service moeblob. These buzzwords need to STOP.

This IS some of the greatest type of slice of life, drama, comedy and everything all together. The characters are so full of life, and the execution, development and feeling throughout the entire animation was amazing.
I can`t wait for the Blu Rays.

I solemnly believe that the “General Lack of Common Sense” category tag is inaccurate. Every other anime deserves this more than Sakurasou.

Maybe not the greatest anime of this season but one of the best.
There is the comedy and the romance. When those two are together you have this great anime.
Even if you don`t enjoy it as much as i did, i believe you will not regret from see it.
It`s a must see!

From the first to the last episode, I could not stop laughing. Defitinely a must see if you like comedy, romance, and a mix of these when used in a fun and heartwarming anime. One of the very best I`ve seen so far!

There are some anime that most people should see at least once. And this one is among them.
Seing this show reminded me of the pleasure i had when watching Maison Ikkoku and Love Hina some years ago.
Lots of interesting characters, fun and tears and so much more that you have to see it to fully understand what a great anime can be.
And i really liked the way it ended … an open ended for the Sakura dorm 🙂
